...4th week..FUN!!!... :)

This week is the 'simulated teaching week' and everyone is excited to do their teaching after such a long time. Well it is a new environment and our first time as well for the Science subject. Our lecturer Mr. Fauzi has been a great help. He was helping my group out and willing to share with us his knowledge. Our simulated teaching should incorporate the use of technology (CD-ROM). What interest me the most is that the groups that have presented did a very good job..I was so impressed and was so engaged by their lessons. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate those who have presented..GOOD JOB GUYS!!! My group have not presented yet and I cant wait for the next science class. I believe that when we incorperate the use of technology in the teaching and learning process, it will definetly benefit the students. During our SEP days when we conducted a survey on the students learning experience for the Science subject, they all admited that it is tough...Therefore, i believe incorperating technology and making learning fun at the same time may help. That is all for now..Can't wait to teach next Tuesday!!! Adios!!!

...3rd week...

This week’s Science class was presentation week. As for my group, we presented on the lesson plan that we came up with as a group. The topic of the lesson was on light whereby at the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to figure out objects that are transparent, translucent and opaque. It is rather an interesting topic as pupils are able to conduct experiments to find out the characteristics of objects around them. The lesson plan that my group have created, allows pupils to do just about that. Based on Mr. Fauzi’s comments, there is room for improvisations. Our next task is to come up with a simulated-teaching as it is considered as part of our assignment as well. It would be fun as this would be our first time conducting simulated-teaching for the science subject. Besides that, it would be our first time conducting it in University Malaya. New environment and new experience altogether. I am looking forward for the simulated-teaching and looking for what my friends have prepared. For now, my group members and I are busy preparing for our simulated teaching. I am pretty sure that there is much to learn from everyone since this is our first time conducting simulated-teaching for the Science subject. I am sure many of us will be feeling nervous as well as we are not sure if we are doing it right. I believe that the experience that we gain will help us to learn and develop ourselves as there is always the first time. Okay, I got to go and get my teaching resources done for my simulated teaching. see u again..Adios!!!!

...2nd week....

What an interesting Science lesson this week. Don’t you think so?? Yes, besides our bubbly lecturer, I personally find this week’s lecture to be more of a hands-on task for us to complete in our respective groups. Our lecturer gave us the task to plan a Science lesson with materials that he will provide. He came in with a small bag which contains the materials that he was going to pass us. I was so curious in wanting to find out what was in that little bag. Like a magician, he took out a few CD-ROMs from that small bag and asked us to prepare a Science lesson using the CD-ROM. He gave us the option on when we would want to use the CD-ROM to aid the teaching and learning process. My group members and I were very much like small kids as we could not wait to see what was in the CD. When the CD was played, I was so surprised to see how interesting it was. It was not only colourful but also very very eye-catching. As I reflect back on my schooling days, I could not recall my teacher using such teaching materials/aids to teach me. Hmm…I wonder why…However, in my point of view, I believe that teachers should make full use of CD-ROMs or other teaching materials which is considered as a powerful tool in getting the message across. It does not only create a fun learning environment but also helps pupils to retain what they have learned longer because when learning is fun pupils will never forget what they have learned. I also feel that teachers in school nowadays should take the extra effort to in-cooperate such learning techniques as it is very very effective. Pupils these days find learning Science as tough, I believe that if teachers are able to make full use of the resources that are available (CD-ROMs, VIDEOs, etc), learning Science will surely be interesting. I hope that when I become a Science teacher in the near future, I would definitely in-cooperate such tools during the teaching and learning process. The Science lesson that we have prepared have not yet been presented to the class, I hope I would have something to say about that in my coming reflection…Till then..ADIOS!!!!....

...expect the unexpected...

my first science class was something i have never expected..well firstly the lecturer is so so so sporting and cool...after a hard day..its nice to go for a class were u will definetly enjoy..considering the fact that the subject itself is tough..u noe with a lot of memorization, sci concepts and so on what u really need is a lecturer which will make ur day...so far its good..i hope that it will continue this way...haha..
